{"id":29153,"date":"2026-03-05T15:33:04","date_gmt":"2026-03-05T14:33:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.modelical.com\/?post_type=project&#038;p=29153"},"modified":"2026-05-05T15:43:52","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T13:43:52","slug":"as-built-bim-modelling-of-the-blue-tech-port","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/www.modelical.com\/en\/project\/as-built-bim-modelling-of-the-blue-tech-port\/","title":{"rendered":"Scan-to-BIM of Heritage Port Warehouses &#8211; BlueTechPort Barcelona"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>World Trade Center Barcelona commissioned Modelical to carry out the BIM survey of six interconnected heritage port warehouse units located at Muelle de Sant Bertran in the Port of Barcelona, Spain.<\/p>\n<p>The objective of the project was to create an accurate as-built BIM model of the existing facilities to serve as the digital basis for their renovation as part of the BlueTechPort project.<\/p>\n<p>Modelical carried out a Scan-to-BIM survey of the site using laser scanning and 360\u00ba image capture. The point cloud data generated during the survey was used to develop native BIM models in Revit.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, 360\u00ba photographs of the asset were linked to the BIM model using DejaVu, Modelical\u2019s proprietary plugin.<br \/>\nThe plugin allows users to navigate the facility visually from the BIM model or through a web interface, providing direct access to up-to-date visual information about the asset.<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Deliverables<\/h2>\n<p>The Scan-to-BIM survey included the following deliverables:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Native Revit (RVT) models representing the enclosure, interior layout and exterior areas<\/li>\n<li>Point clouds in RCP and E57 formats<\/li>\n<li>360\u00ba photographs linked to the BIM model and accessible through DejaVu and via web interface<\/li>\n<li>DWG exports including floor plans and general sections<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Benefits<\/h2>\n<p>The as-built BIM model developed by Modelical provides World Trade Center Barcelona with a reliable as-built model of the heritage port warehouses, supporting the planning and development of the renovation project.<\/p>\n<p>The integration of 360\u00ba images linked to the BIM model also provides direct access to up-to-date visual information, facilitating design coordination and supporting decision-making.<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>As-built models for port heritage buildings<\/h2>\n<p>For existing port infrastructure and heritage buildings, as-built BIM models provide reliable and structured information about the current state of the asset and support renovation and redevelopment projects.<\/p>\n<p>Modelical helps asset owners and operators create accurate digital representations of their facilities through laser scanning, point cloud processing and BIM modelling, enabling renovation planning, asset management and digital twin initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":29154,"template":"","categories":[7],"tags":[411],"class_list":["post-29153","project","type-project","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-works","tag-technology-revit"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.8 -
