FIRA Gran Via Modelling – Pavilion 8 & 8.1

Description

Fira de Barcelona is the fair institution of Barcelona. Every year it organizes and hosts more than 150 salons, congresses, and corporate events being the largest fair institution in Spain and one of the most important in Europe and the world. The project consisted of developing BIM models of the existing conditions for one of their buildings. This included Pavilion 8, the North Access, Congress Center 8, and part of the spine that connects this pavilion with the rest of the buildings in Fira. These models encompassed the disciplines of architecture, structures, and MEP created from point clouds. To achieve this, we conducted a series of 360° photographs and laser scans to obtain the point clouds of the building, thus ensuring accurate BIM models of the existing conditions.
