3rd Meeting BIM GROUP – COAATZ
Following the footsteps of other groups and professional associations related to the construction business, the Official College of surveyors and technical architects of Zaragoza (COAATZ) has created a BIM user group where the goal is to share this new collaborative work methodology and at the same time continue with the training courses that have been taught since last year. These Revit Architecture courses coordinated by EUPLA, have been taught by our coworker José Ángel Salanova, a Building information Specialist here at Modelical.
He told us: “This are monthly meetings on an informal environment, where interaction is promoted among all attendees, sharing their progress and talking about the changes on our fields of expertise, learning from one another as well as other additional training activities with Revit software. It’s exactly as BIM intends to be, a collaborative environment where we seek to bring together all the people interested in this new technological paradigm that arises in the construction sector but in less stressful atmosphere. It may seem a slow learning methodology, but I can assure you it never stops.”
After the briefing held in December 2014, the BIM Working Group – COAATZ began in a more official way in January 2015. On the first meeting roles and some tasks were assigned among the attendees and it began a reading and presentation of first topic to discuss, an abstract of the BIM style guide, developed by the uBIM collective read by Jaime González.
On the second meeting, held last February, Ana Castel briefly told us her impression of the EUROPEAN BIM SUMMIT, a BIM Congress held in Barcelona a few days before the meeting, and where she went as a COAATZ representative. Afterwards the turn went to Carmelo Moreno and Gonzalo Alonso who talked about chapters 2 and 3 respectively of the BIM style guide from the previous discussion.
Although it will be announced properly in the COAATZ forum, it’s possible that third meeting will be held on March 27th at 18:30 in the College premises.
From here, we would like to encourage everyone who has attended some Revit course or simply to all the technical architects collegiate that if you are interested in this new way of working coming towards us, come and join us in the BIM users group.
