In the last week of February, Roberto Molinos and Oriol Vidal gave the third edition of the BM Legacy training for the Qatar Society of Engineers (QSE).
The course was presented as a four days workshop mixing theory and practice. The broad professional profiles of the attendees has been an indicator of the growing commitment to BIM in the different companies and corporations operating in Qatar.
With an intentional transverse character of the contents shown, hands on sessions about existing models edition, 4D simulation and quantity takeoff from BIM models have been carried out.
After this first contact with BIM technology and the potential of its tools, we have been able to show the document framework that must rule the contracting of projects and execution of work under BIM, introducing concepts such as Employer Information Requirements (EIR) or BIM Execution Plan (BEP)
With the conclusion of the course with a high degree of satisfaction on the part of attendees, this third edition unveils the clear trend of BIM concern not only in the design phase, but also for the execution, operation and maintenance needs.
