Accenture and Modelical Selected by Red Eléctrica to Upgrade Management Systems and Processes of Assets Digital Model
A project that integrates BIM methodology with other technologies to achieve digital asset management throughout their lifecycle.
Accenture—a leading global professional services and information technology company—and Modelical—a consulting firm specializing in digital transformation for the construction industry—have been selected by Red Eléctrica—the subsidiary of Redeia responsible for the transmission and operation of the electricity grid in Spain—following a successful tender process, to develop, in joint venture, a project for upgrading the digital model of asset management processes and systems.
In the frame of its commitment to innovation and technology, Red Eléctrica is developing the new digital environment that will optimize its processes and operations for existing assets and new infrastructure projects in the power grid, providing comprehensive information throughout their lifecycle.
Accenture and Modelical were invited to participate in the tender due to their expertise in technology and transformation for the energy sector, and their capabilities and knowledge in BIM and digital twins.
In an initial phase, the joint venture will analyze and establish the information management requirements necessary for creating the new digital environment, including aspects such as:
- Definition of new data models
- Definition of new workflows
- Selection of technologies
- Definition of data source integrations
In a second phase, the joint venture will carry out the detailed definition and implementation of the processes for their integration into Red Eléctrica team activities, enhancing the digital management of the various types of assets and projects within the company.
This continuous improvement initiative will allow Red Eléctrica to gain a detailed and comprehensive view of both existing and projected assets. Additionally, it will provide a scalable digital environment tailored to the specific needs of their business.
